Enjoying this wine is the best way to learn about the elaboration of the Tempranillo manchega by Alejandro and Eva Fernández. The youngest wine in this winery is characterized by its excellent value for money. After resting 18 months in American oak barrels and 6 more in the bottle, it is a classic of the Tempranillo variety to enjoy on any occasion. In the mouth, it surprises with its sweet, spicy tannins, marked by ripe fruit, with the expulsion of plums, blackcurrants and blueberries. Such a pleasure for the senses.

ALCOHOL CONTENT: 15,5%

VARIETY: 100% Tempranillo

 

TASTING NOTES

LOOK: Intense picota cherry red colour, clean and shiny. 

SMELL: Predominance of mature fruits, with a light touch of oak and spicy and roasted notes.

TASTE: It is complex and intense. Well endowed with acidity, which brings freshness under the tongue. This red retains a structure defined by the tannins. A persistent and tasty wine, intense in the mouth, which lasts several seconds after passing through the palate.

SERVING TEMPERATURE: From 12º to 14º

CONSUMPTION: Suitable for your current tasting, which will also evolve in the bottle. It is recommended to decant 30 minutes before the service to oxygenate. With the aim of obtaining a more natural wine, this Crianza has not undergone any filtration process, so it may contain sediments that do not affect the quality of the wine.

PAIRINGS:Perfect to enjoy accompanied by grilled red meats, small game of feather and hair, such as the partridge or the hare.

 

VINEYARD AND PRODUCTION

DESCRIPTION:Vineyards located between 750 and 650 meters of altitude, in seedy land in descent from North to South, with South orientation.

SURFACE AREA: 80 hectares.

AGE: Average of 25 years.

SOIL: A composition of sandy and clayey soil.

CLIMATE:  The year 2014 began with a warm winter. January and February were months with higher temperatures than usual, which led to a rather hot spring. From June to mid-August, the temperature was much higher than expected on those dates. The first harvests were made in the first fortnight of the month of August.

VINIFICATION: De-stemming and fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

AGEING: Aged 24 months in American oak barrels and 12 months in the bottle.
